To bring Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore back to Earth, the US space agency NASA recently announced that it would bring them back in February 2025 on a SpaceX space ship under the Crew-9 mission.
Now in this connection, 2 other NASA astronauts have started preparations. In fact, for the Crew-9 mission, NASA’s Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov will be in quarantine before going to the International Space Station (ISS).
Who is NASA sending to ISS
A statement issued by NASA said that the Crew-9 mission will be launched on September 26 with the help of Space-X. In fact, NASA will send Nick Hague and cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov to the International Space Station from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida with the help of Space-X’s Falcon 9 rocket.

According to Indian time, the Crew-9 mission will be launched on September 25 at 11:58 pm. About 6 hours after launch, both astronauts will reach the International Space Station.
How will Sunita Williams return?
Actually, under NASA’s Crew Mission, usually 4 astronauts are sent to ISS via Dragon Space Ship. However, this time only 2 astronauts will be sent to ISS under the Crew-9 mission. This is so that Sunita Williams and Wilmore can return via Dragon spacecraft under the Crew-9 mission in February 2025.

Actually, the Dragon Space Ship has four seats and NASA has sent only 2 astronauts to the ISS. In such a situation, Williams and Wilmore will return to Earth sitting on the two empty seats that will be there at the time of return.
